Indeed - Applicants coming in with Applicant status vs Online Applicant status - 10/24/2022 [RN]

What's new?

This minor enhancement fixes a problem where talent applying through Indeed are created with a status of "Applicant" instead of "Online Applicant". Now, these talent will be created with the status of "Online Applicant" as expected.

Why did we do that?

Clients told us they were experiencing an issue where new candidates who apply through Indeed are coming in with their employee status set to Applicant instead of Online Applicant for candidates who apply through the client's website. This could be observed by going through the Newest 50 Talent widget as they have not had their statuses changed or updated yet. This was causing confusion for clients as not every new candidate has the same status.

Why does this matter to you, as a client/customer/user?
Thanks to these enhancements, given the following preconditions:
  • An HCM user is reviewing newly added talent to determine which are new online applicants or manually created applicants
  • A talent applies via Indeed
  • The talent does not have an existing profile
When an HCM user in your company views the status of the newly created talent, the talent will have the status of Online Applicant. This will be the same as if talent applied via the Career Pages.
How does this work?
  1. From the Dashboard landing page, look at the statuses of the newest applicants from the Newest 50 Talent widget.
  2. Click on the applicant's name under consideration. The details will open in a new tab.
  3. Click on Activities
    • Applicants who applied using Indeed have the status of Applicant as their default.
    • Applicants who applied through the company website have the default status of Online Applicant.
