AvionteéBOLD is the single point of entry for discount management. This article covers how discount structures work at the company, office, and job level, the permissions required to edit them, and how to set them up in BOLD.
Overview
Discount structures are set up and managed at the company level, office level, and individual job level, all directly in BOLD. Back Office discount configuration is read-only, so BOLD is where you view, set up, and maintain every discount.
If you already have discounts configured in Back Office, they will automatically show up in BOLD, no sync or migration is required. The only requirement is to have your Bold profile linked to your back office user profile. Discounts in BOLD are not read-only, and can be edited directly within BOLD, no need to switch to Back Office.
Permissions
All users can view discount structures and rates in BOLD by default, giving your whole team visibility into what's active without needing extra access.
To create, edit, or remove a discount, a user must have the Modification Access > Edit Discount user permission enabled on their profile.
Setting Up Discount Structures
Discounts flow from the company level to offices and then to individual jobs. Set up the discount at the company level first, then refine it at the office and job level as needed.
Setting Up a Company-Level Discount
- Navigate to the company profile page.
- Select the Contacts tab.
- Below the At a Glance section, select Other Actions to open the drop-down menu. This is also where you'll find the option to create a new office.
- Select Edit Discount from the drop-down menu. This option is only available to users with the Modification Access > Edit Discount permission.
- If the user does not have the permissions from the Permissions section above set up, this button will instead say View Discount, and they will be unable to make any changes.
- The Edit Discount window opens. If a discount is already configured for the company, its details display here. If no discount has been configured, select Add Discount instead.
- Selecting Add Discount displays the fields described in the table below.
- Optionally, select Add Company Discount Tier to apply tiered pricing to the discount. This adds three additional fields, on top of the fields in the table above, described in the second table below, and you can add multiple tiers to a single discount.
- Complete all required fields, then select the checkmark in the upper right corner to save.
- A pop-up will open asking if you would like to duplicate this discount to offices under the company.
- If you select yes, a pop-up will open where you can search for and select any office you would like to copy the discount to, or you can copy it to all offices. The discount will be added to each office you select under the company and will appear in step 4 of the below section on Setting Up an Office-Level Discount.
- If you select no, it will not be added to any offices under the company, and you will need to manually do so. For more information on this, please see the Setting Up an Office-Level Discount section below.
- You're returned to the Edit Discount window, where you can add further discounts or edit and remove any previously created discount.

Setting Up an Office-Level Discount
- From the Contacts tab of the company profile, locate the office you want to configure the discount for.
- Select Other Actions, found to the left of the Edit Office button next to the office name, to open the drop-down menu.
- Select Edit Discount from the drop-down menu.
- The same Edit Discount window used for company-level discounts opens, showing any discounts already added to this office in step 9 of the company-level setup. If that step was skipped, the pop-up will be empty.
- Select a previously configured discount to apply it to the office or select Add Discount to create a new discount for the office.
- When adding a discount, you may choose to apply it to all new jobs created within that office. If this is not done, new jobs will need to have discounts manually added after they are created.
- Additionally, if you have selected this option, when creating a new discount, you will be asked if you would like to apply it to any active jobs.
- If you select no, you will need to manually add the discount to any active jobs later.
- If you select yes, a new pop-up will open where you can search for and select any active jobs under the office you would like to add it to.
- Additionally, if you have selected this option, when creating a new discount, you will be asked if you would like to apply it to any active jobs.
- You may also add company discount tiers on the office level by selecting the Add Company Discount Tier option at the bottom of the pop-up.
- Additional tiers may be added to each discount as needed by clicking the Add Additional Tier button in this section.
- Additional tiers may be added to each discount as needed by clicking the Add Additional Tier button in this section.
Managing Discounts at the Job Level
Discounts can also be applied, adjusted, or removed for an individual job directly in BOLD. Auto-apply continues to function the same way it does today, so discounts configured at the office level still populate automatically when a new job is created, as long as the apply to all new jobs toggle is on for that discount.
- Open the job record and navigate to the Operations & Financials section.
- Click the pencil icon to expand the section.
- Scroll down to the discount field.
- Click the field and a list of all discounts configured for the office the job was created under will appear. You may check or uncheck each discount here to add or remove it from the job.
- Once finished, click the save button to apply the changes.
Audit Log
Every discount change is tracked in the audit log, so you can confirm who made a change and when it occurred.
