The FCC and Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) require all SMS senders to collect express consent and offer the option to revoke it. Failure to comply can result in per-message federal fines. This article explains how to configure and manage SMS text message consent in AviontéBOLD.
Key Takeaways
- Collect express consent from Talent and track opt-out status to prevent unwanted text messaging.
- Avionté recommends collecting consent through the online application, Onboarding process, or Talent Portal. You can also manually mark consent on a Talent's behalf when needed.
- Avionté's standard consent verbiage covers SMS sent natively through AviontéBOLD via our chosen third-party service provider. It does not apply to SMS sent through partner integrations or outside of BOLD (such as Sense or other third-party tools).
- Use the Audit Log to see which user changed the Text Message Consent field.

Error Messages Reference
Sending to Opted-Out Numbers
If a user attempts to send a text to a Talent who has revoked consent, an error message will appear and the message field will be disabled — the user cannot type or send an SMS to that Talent.
If a user attempts a mass text that includes Talent who have opted out, those Talent will be automatically removed from the recipient list.
