When to Use Questionnaire-Based Scripts
Choose questionnaire-based scripts when you need structured hiring processes that deliver comparable results across all candidates:
- Compliance requirements: Industries or positions requiring identical interview questions for legal or regulatory compliance
- Training new recruiters: Provide structured scripts that guide less experienced team members through effective interviews
- High-volume hiring: Standardize interviews for positions with many candidates to enable fair comparisons
- Team consistency: Ensure all interviewers ask the same core questions regardless of who conducts the interview
- Reusable templates: Create scripts once and attach them to job templates for automatic inclusion in all similar positions
Creating Questionnaire-Based Scripts
Build reusable interview questionnaires that maintain consistency across your hiring process and can be attached to job templates or individual jobs.
- Navigate to Account & Settings > Utilities > Talent Questionnaire
- Click the Create a New Talent Questionnaire button
- Move the Interview Type slider to Yes
- Add an introduction in the text field provided and press Enter
- Select the Add Question button
- Type your first interview question and select Save Edits
- Repeat step 6 for each additional question you want to include
- Click Save to complete your questionnaire
Working with Existing Questions
There is currently no direct copy or duplicate function between questionnaires. To reuse questions from an existing questionnaire, open the interview script builder, generate the questions, manually copy the content you want to carry over, then close without saving. This lets you transfer questions into a new questionnaire without affecting the original.
Attaching Questionnaires to Jobs
Maximize efficiency by attaching your interview questionnaire to jobs in two ways:
- Add to a Job Template for automatic inclusion in all jobs using that template, eliminating repetitive setup
- Attach to individual jobs using the Associate Interview Questionnaire button on the Job Details page
The associated questionnaire appears in the Job Details section for easy reference:

- Navigate to the Talent Profile of the candidate you want to interview
- Click on the Interviews tab
- Locate the job in the In-Person Interviews section (appears automatically when you pipeline, nominate, or the talent web applies)
- Click the Action button to begin script generation
- Wait while AI analyzes the job requirements and candidate profile to create your personalized script
- Review your generated script with 8 comprehensive sections and 3 questions per section

Customizing Your AI-Generated Script
Tailor your generated script to focus on exactly what matters most for each interview. Edit, rephrase, add, or delete questions to create the perfect interview experience.
Edit a Question: Modify the exact wording to match your interview style or focus on specific aspects.
- Click the Edit icon next to any question
- Modify the question text in the text box
- Click Save to apply your changes
Rephrase a Question: Get alternative wording while maintaining the same intent, helping you find the perfect way to ask about specific topics.
- Click the Rephrase icon to have AI rewrite the question with different wording
- Review the rephrased question (saved automatically)
Delete a Question: Remove questions that don't fit your interview focus, streamlining the conversation.
- Click the Delete icon to remove unnecessary questions
Add a Question: Expand any section with additional questions generated specifically for this candidate and job, ensuring you cover every important topic.

Saving Your Script
- Once satisfied with your customizations, click Save Interview Script
- The script status changes to Built and is ready for conducting interviews

- Keep this page open on your screen during the interview for easy access

Saving Your Interview Notes
- After completing the interview and adding all notes, click Save in the bottom-right corner
- The script status automatically updates to Interviewed, indicating notes have been captured
- You're returned to the Interviews tab on the talent's profile

Each summary provides three levels of insight, giving you both high-level takeaways and detailed section analysis:
Global Summary: A comprehensive overview of the entire interview that synthesizes all notes across all questions. This executive summary provides an at-a-glance understanding of the candidate's overall fit, key strengths, and any areas of concern—perfect for sharing with hiring managers or team members who need quick insight.
Per Section Summary: Detailed evaluations for each of the eight question categories (General, Skills and Expertise, Experience and Achievements, etc.). These focused summaries help you understand how the candidate performed in specific competency areas, making it easy to identify standout capabilities or potential development needs.
Per Section AI Thoughts: Transparent insight into the AI's analytical process, showing exactly how it arrived at each section summary. This unique feature demonstrates Avionté's commitment to transparent AI by revealing:
- Question Analysis: How AI interpreted each question's intent and what it was evaluating
- Key Qualities/Skills Assessed: Specific competencies being measured in candidate responses
- Notable Response Elements: Standout details, examples, or insights from the candidate's answers
- Overall Themes: Patterns and connections AI identified across multiple responses
Editing and Finalizing Your Summary
Ensure your summaries perfectly capture your assessment by reviewing and refining AI-generated content before finalizing the interview.
- Click the Edit button in the top-right corner to modify any summary content
- Refine the global summary, section summaries, or add your own insights
- Click Save to preserve your edits
- Once all edits are complete, click Complete Interview to finalize the process
- The interview status changes to Complete, preserving all questions, notes, and summaries
Sharing Your Interview as a PDF
Once your interview is complete, you can generate a PDF of the full interview record to share with hiring managers or other stakeholders.
- From the Interviews tab, locate the completed interview (status: Complete)
- Click the Action button and select Download PDF
- The PDF includes the interview questions, your notes, and the AI-generated summary

Pixel Interviews Section: Track all automated PIXEL interviews sent to a talent, including job name, company, bot name, match status, and links to detailed results.
In-Person Interviews Section: Manage all interview scripts created for the talent, with clear status indicators showing interview progress and action buttons to advance through each stage.

Each interview moves through four distinct statuses that track progress from creation to completion:

Interview Data and Activities
Each time an interview moves between stages, BOLD automatically creates an activity on the talent profile. These activities capture the stage change (Pending to Built, Built to Interviewed, Interviewed to Complete) and record which user completed the action and which job it was associated with.
